OPTICAL AFFAIRS VINTAGE - SERIES KL1

$675.00

KL1 in Grey Shimmering Marble. A sleek wraparound silhouette in acetate.

This particular color sample was not created for Karl Lagerfeld. Instead, it recalls another exceptional moment in high fashion. At the time, the brilliant and legendary Fashion Director of American Vogue, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, commissioned a sunglass from us for a Vogue editorial styled around the theme “Dress Grey”, to be photographed by the iconic Peter Lindbergh. We proposed this very sample - never imagining it would appear so prominently in the striking opening double-page spread of the “Dress Grey” portfolio, beautifully modeled by the radiant Kara Young. While we cannot display the image here for copyright reasons, it appeared in the September 1989 Issue of Vogue US, and was recently shared on Kara Young’s own Instagram.

In impeccable condition.
A true piece of eyewear history, meticulously handmade in France.
